Page Layouts, More Creative
When I have a little extra time, I will sometimes try to get a little more creative with my layouts. Of course, this happened a lot more in earlier days, when I only had one son who would nap in the middle of the day. Now that I’m 3 years behind in my efforts, with two crazies running around, I fear pages will be “quick and dirty” for a while.
Again, I had no idea what I was doing when I started, and very little exposure to other examples of scrapbooking at the time.
But then I bought my first magazine…
…and I started to get a little more adventurous with themes…
…and with supplies – like using old calendar images…
…and adding “extras”, like this story I would tell Finny at bedtime.
Maybe it’s because I have so little from my own childhood, but I wanted to capture everything for Finny to see in the future.
And, to be honest, to help me remember too.
Even though I’d venture into the more visually complex layouts…
Aesthetically, I just preferred the simple ones the best.
Well, at least “simpler“.
I really love to see how things change over time.
So, summary pages like this are some of my favourites.
Although, you can never go wrong with chocolate.
As Finny got older, finding time to be creative got harder. Though, I really thought using these cupcake liners was a fun idea.
I only wish my Lego idea had looked nicer somehow.
And sometimes, all I can come up with is a funny play on words. But, hey. At least it’s something.
