LA Trip – Part I

LA Trip – Part I

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a whole month since my trip to LA!!! Between the craft sale and tending to a sick 3-year-old, time has just flown by… I thought I still might post some of the pics though, just for fun. Rumor has it that the friend I visited wants to give some of them as Xmas gifts and whatnots, so I’m going to reserve most of the “people” ones, just in case, even though they are awesome. I LOVELOVELOVE my new camera! Anyhow. Here we go.

Travel day. Sitting quietly, sipping tea and listening to music, without being interrupted by children? Wow. A vacation indeed. 😉

Smooth sailing. Thanks, WestJet.

After settling in and putting the kids to bed, we enjoyed some of the most amazing Japanese take-out.

Day 1 – Grabbed my new camera gear and headed out for an explore.

Sculpture in the ‘hood – nicknamed “Lemon Head”. As in, “When you get to Lemon Head, make a right and head north.”

Plentiful flowers everywhere – shops, gardens, markets…

Beautiful ironwork too.

Plus a rent-all place – your one-stop-shop for mechanical dinosaurs, vintage furniture, or even the iconic Hollywood sign!

People watching at a cafe.

Blick – a most wonderful (and air-conditioned) art (and gift) store!

Afternoon errands result in comical encounters with mannequins.

Finished the day with a decadent cheese-based dinner out at Mozza.

Swoon.

Then it was obviously time to head to bed.

Day 2 began with the most energetic (for 10 am) and adult-based birthday party for a little friend that I’ve ever seen.

With a few more famous faces (not shown for privacy reasons), and entertainment provided by some folks from “So You Think You Can Dance”, apparently.

What gorgeous floral trees!!!

The morning party pretty much tuckered us all out, so after naps, we spent the rest of the day chilling out in the back yard.

Which was a very relaxing and beautiful thing, indeed.

After the kids went to bed, we treated ourselves to wine and Callebaut chocolate and late-night girl-talk. Oh, and a footrub. Ahhhh…

Coming up: Days 3 and 4. Wheee!
