August Break 2012 – Day 4

August Break 2012 – Day 4

Awoke to more rain yesterday. Which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. We were all pretty mellow and enjoyed the peacefully quiet morning.

We listened to some Cure, and drank warm beverages…

The smaller Monkeyboys played with their toys.

And the biggest Monkeyboy and I put together a bus. One that is crazy quiet and fume-free. 😉

Later in the day, the sun came out and I sat on the porch shelling peas. There were so many that I decided to blanch and freeze some for some hearty fall soups. How pastoral of me.

That night, my husband headed out for a LEGO meeting, and I took the boys out for dinner and a play. I saw this on the way to the park and it made me giggle.

Monkeyboy junior is such a good big brother…

Whilst at the park, I chatted a bit with one of the moms there and eventually worked up the nerve to ask if I could take her photo. She politely refused, saying that her fear of getting her photo taken outweighed her fear of disappointing others. Which is fair enough, I suppose. But it was still a bit of a let down, after three successful “stranger shots”. Ah, well. There is always tomorrow.

To make up for it, the sky provided me with a little bit of love… You gotta love Mother Nature sometimes. =)
