Fall Fairs

Fall Fairs

In celebration of the arrival of fall, the family and I headed out to the Calgary Arts Academy’s Harvest Fair this past Friday. In addition to all of the family fun, like –

… the horse-drawn wagon rides…

… the various art projects…

… and the awesome food truck delights with accompanying entertainments (including Dan The One Man Band, hullo!) …

… my husband and I co-hosted a table in the gym with some other artisans. Which is why I haven’t been around to post anything this week – I’ve been busily collage-ing and sewing and ironing my little heart out.

More on that later…

Aside from feeling a little disappointed by the overwhelming popularity of the Lego minifigs up for grab (by FAR the most popular item that we sold), it was a great time. We got to meet some fun creative people (like the Food On Your Shirt folks and Jennifer Chipperfield), we got to spend time together as a family (though, wrangling a cheeky 3-year-old at a sale is much more difficult than I ever imagined), and we got to take breaks from manning the table to go and have some fun-fun (which I think should be a part of every sale from here on in…)

I also got to try out a few new display techniques – like this cool corner “frame” that I used to hang aprons and onesies on. It gets them up off the table, makes them easier to view, and I looove it.

Anyhow. We had lots of fun, sold a few things, and it totally got me geared up for the upcoming Christmas “rush” (I’ll show you some of the new collages I made for the onesies some time soon). So, yeah. That was my week. How was yours? =)

  1. Craft fairs are so much work…can’t imagine doing one with kids. But doing one with your husband must be such a rewarding experience. Love the onsies!
    Cheers,
