KateWares Gets A Facelift

KateWares Gets A Facelift

As you may have noticed, things look a little… different around here today. The change arrived as the result of a combination of factors – hosting switch-overs, updates to WordPress, and not the least of which, a general desire for a blog that was more “visually oriented”, like me. After trying on a bunch of different WordPress themes, I arrived at this one, called “Snaps”. With it, every post has a representational “featured image”, so you can scan through dozens of posts on the main page in a flash, clicking on the one you need, or the ones that look interesting to you.

I’ve spent the last week “behind the curtain”, going through all my posts – deleting about a quarter of them (the ones that weren’t too interesting, helpful, or positive), backing up the ones that were staying, and trying to fix some “newbie blog user” mistakes that I had made. [Note to newbie blog users: when uploading your photos, make sure the each have a distinct and unique name, rather than “a” or “4b”, otherwise… when you switch hosts or whatnot, your photos will get all jumbled and your posts won’t make any sense!!! End of rant.]

Of course, there is still much work to be done – like selecting “featured images” for the remaining posts, and reloading all of those poorly named photos. *le sigh* Among other little tweaks… but we are well on our way!!! Hurray! And welcome to the new blog. =)

Love, love, love your header, and the color combination you have chosen is wonderful.

Hope you are having a great weekend! xo.

    1. Thank you SO much, Lisa! I am really enjoying this new theme myself!
As for the weekend… it is snowing like crazy, so… Hmm.
      😉

  2. Kate: I LOVE the new look! So very you–I’m glad you were able to align the blog with what you most value (and how you interact with the world). Great stuff. And deep thanks for your lovely note in the postal mail. After returning from 5 weeks away, most of the mail is junk that goes in the recycling. It was SO nice have a letter from a friend. You are incredibly thoughtful. Big hug!
