Keeping Busy

Keeping Busy

With the upcoming sale less than two weeks away, I’ve been keeping myself busy making new products… when not dealing with the dreaded “summer cold” issues (and puttering in the garden a bit), that is. Here’s a couple that really make me smile.

Cherry, Cherry, Cherry

A recent dish cloth with cherries! Inspired by my friend Jules and something from a long, long time ago. I’ve been really fascinated lately at “watching” how my ideas develop. This idea started as a typical flower… evolved into a colourful circles pattern… then evolved again into the cherries you see here. It’s been really neat paying attention to this process.

Lol-F*ck

Some new naughty stitches. After polling people on Facebook, and getting some hilarious suggestions, I decided to go with these two for starters. “Laugh Out Loud”, or as Michelle would do, “Live Out Loud”… and the “F” word – which could be either an exclamation, or a suggestion. 😉 Personally, I think they go well together. (“Have you had a good “lol-f*ck” lately?) Anyhow. Moving on.

Molly's Bag

The bag I made for the very first gift certificate recipient, Molly! We collaborated on it – going back and forth to design it. I would make fabric and colour and font suggestions, and she would pick and choose what she liked… and we arrived at this. I *love* it and think it will make trips to obedience training SO much more fun!

Anywho. That’s all I wanted to share today. Aside from all this fun crafting, I’ve also been having to deal with some unfortunate issues with an Etsy transaction… which has now ended up going to the dispute centre! But I’m confident that things will be found in my favour, as I have been following the rules diligently and have gone above and beyond to try and find a compromise the woman in question. Bottom line is that I have had to challenge my initial “taking it personally” response, and re-frame the situation as a challenge and learning experience (plus even more practice in standing my ground and not being a door mat). Maybe I’ll tell you about it sometime. Until then, happy travels. 😉

  1. Bummer about the Etsy dispute. But you’re right, it’s not personal. The woman doesn’t know you; you’ve done nothing wrong. Sometimes people are just unhappy. On the flip-side there can be nothing but giggles when someone sees a colorfully stitched F&CK. That made me smile big! Great idea.

    1. Thanks, Joy! I know some people may be offended by the “naughty stitches”, but they’re not my kinda people. 😉
