August Break 2011 – Day 9

August Break 2011 – Day 9

And then there are good days. Today, my friend Jen Lynn came over to sit for me and help me with my “painted words on bodies” efforts. Let me tell you, it is SO much easier when I don’t have to be both in front of and behind the camera! Plus, it was a whole lot of fun to just hang out and converse with an actual adult ;). Thanks again, Jen Lynn! Anyhow, long morning short, after talking about the various possibilities, we decided to focus on something she’s wanting to remember to do more – to breathe. So, after making her expose more skin to paint, sit in different locations around the house and garden, and look (and try to be) relaxed while holding a pose… this is what we finally came up with.

Isn’t she lovely??? =) Popped a bit using “antonio” filter in Pixlr-o-matic. The softness was straight from the camera, thanks to the solar flaring. Woohoo!

Of course, I still have a soft spot for the first set up we had going, as contrived as it may be compared to the openness of the above image. I’m just a sucker for symbolism, I suppose.

Edited using the  “tony” filter, “smoke” frame, and adding a bit of cyan.

Of course, there is also something simply pleasing about the first “test shot” even…

Maybe it’s because we all need a gentle reminder to take the time and really  b r e a t h e now and again… =)

    1. Thanks! I’m not actually taking the course…though I am very familiar with Kelly Rae’s work. =) I actually got the idea from The Dancing Mermaid (see Creative Inspirations list to the right), though I’m not sure where she got it from. Thanks for dropping by – time to check out your blog now. 😉
